The criteria for development were restricted by the need to blend with the surrounding Georgian architecture.  Our objective was to provide retail space and living accommodation that complimented its surroundings and was appropriate to the local style of properties.  Careful planning, attentive architects and skilled workmen allowed us to complete this development on time, within budget and has been a remarkably satisfying project.

We have several External Wall Insulation projects underway in Cornwall.  Our clients for these schemes include private home owners, social landlords and a village hall, well used by the local community. 

Hard to treat properties are of particular concern to social landlords and private home owners and we have been applying External Wall Insulation to many houses and flats in Devon and Cornwall for over twelve years.   Our contract with Carrick Housing Association is a long term project providing External Wall Insulation to their hard to treat properties, not only can the thermal insulation help to keep the buildings warm, it also improves the appearance of the properties and in many cases, raises the social environment of the area.

Due to the original construction of solid masonry walls, homes are not provided with acceptable thermal insulation levels to comply with current Building Regulations and often suffer with condensation problems.  The application of External Wall Insulation can help to eliminate condensation problems, provide the required insulation, and in addition, is a cost effective, low maintenance external finish.

Another development project for R Brewer Construction, the original house is a fine example of the larger gentlemen’s residences that presided on the higher levels overlooking Newton Abbot, and surrounding countryside.

We refurbished Highweek House throughout and added a large extension to the main house. The extension totalled 592 sq.ft and provided the extra space needed for a large utility room with boiler cupboard, cloakroom and boot room and spacious internal hall. On the first floor we added two bedrooms and landing and ultimately created an outstanding 5 bedroom property. The impressive entrance hall with original minster fireplace was restored to a bright and functional space, as was the large comfortable sitting room. We removed a partition wall between two rooms which allowed for an open plan kitchen and family room, leading outside to a terrace overlooking the garden. The generous gardens were ideal for a large family. The property was sold on the open market.
